Hello,

I was wondering how to install an https server on the usr2450, and other
aps.

I do not want to install a dropbear sshd server, because sometimes it
could not fit into 1mb flash.

The following solution can be lighter:

It wont fit for sure
and I dont see any reason for this.

ssh and https do not add any security they just makes that your isp cant
capture your data.
anyway even if someone will hack into your ap there is nothing to do anyway.

In a case of a MAN, it could be important to configure your box remotely
over wireless, without having your neighboors seeing your password.

CIPE might help here. Dunno, Image is so tight on the USR it isn't funny.

in fact the project at developer.berlios.de/projects/linuxap-eh/ supports
cipe_1.5.4 and openvpn_1.4.3 (no crypto support, only for tunnels), but I
still think that projects shouldn't diverge, although this one (linuxAP-eh)
grows in a more... uncontrolled way (sometimes features are added with not
enough testing)

I further improved this ap.
anyway seems this project is dying since this ap hardware is obsolette.

I think iptables is not nesecary also network swaping nbd and dhcp is not
much use also.
after removing all this from kernel I have made 60kb free space.
I added trafic shaping (priority) and cgi interface for writing custom
startup scripts. also status information is more usefull because now shows
signal levels
unfortunately even very simplified tc utility takes 25kb compresed + 10kb
math library ( need to be removed)

if you want to test it you will find image at http://pupa.da.ru
