I was just browsing the content of the pages related to the Dell
Truemobile, and....it's a samsung4510 based ap!

I'm looking at the pics of the TRilug guy, but I cannot see a JTAG
connector. Do you have the FCC-ID of the Dell truemobile? So as I can
watch on the pics of the FCC.

Another guy has written me that Siemens APs (speedstream) are driven
also by samsung4510. If someone has an FCC-ID. I will try to find the
firmware to see if it's arm7 and ThreadX again...

Nope. No JTAG connector. There is serial, but you need a level shifter.

I've got an 1184 here. How do I get the FCC ID? Let me know and I'll dig
it out. I would *love* to get these Dell puppies running a real Linux
distro.

It is likely that there are many brands powered by the same board from the
same manufacturer. We found three companies (all in Korea or Taiwan) that
are the likely producers (in collaboration) of these devices. The version
of Linux that comes with them is known as vLinux. Source is not [urrhg]
available, but we believe it to be based on uCLinux.

On the pic of the Trilug guy, it seems that there's no jtag, but on the
document of the FCC, there is. Gemtek has submitted a new model at FCC
in september, I don't know if Dell has changed their models or not.

FCC ID: MXF-R910604

I can open the case and check the board if that would be better.

Vitals System: www.armlinux.net
Based in Korea, it appears. They seem to be the ones behind the board
design.

On Software International: www.onlinux.com.tw
Based in Taiwan, these folks seem to be the producers of vLinux.

My guess is that Gemtek is working with these companies to produce the
actual products.
