Hi,
I have sucessfully flashed my SMC2652 with
http://linuxap.ksmith.com/archive/old_images/sram-2002-09-13 and it works
OK. I run it in runlevel 3 (AP/Bridge).I can connect with a Linksys
WUSB11 v2.5 adapter.
The problem I have, is that I cannot connect with a old 2 Mbps 802.11
(_not_ 11 Mbps and _not_ 802.11b) Z-Com WL2431 PCMCIA card(FCC ID:
NZO-ALPHALAN 2000) running with drivers from http://mc2drv.berlios.de/ I
had no problems connecting with the AP with original SMC firmware, I also
could connect the WL2431 PCMCIA card with the Linksys WUSB11 v2.5 adapter
in Ad-Hoc mode.
If I try to connect the WL2431 card with the SMC2432 after I reflashed it
with Linuxap, it starts to connect, I see in kern.log that it does
AUTH->ASSOC and then it should have it's LED (indicating radio link)
turned on, but it doesn't. /proc/net/wireless shows all 0's
How is the LinuxAP different from the original firmware that it might
make the AP unusable with old 2Mbps 802.11 (not 802.11b) cards? How to
make it compatible?
regards,
